Host a drop
A drop is one card we fund and place at a real spot, claimed by whoever walks there and proves they are standing in front of it.
Drops are live. None of them is hosted.
6 drops are claimable in 6 cities — Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Chicago and Miami — at public squares and parks we picked ourselves, 23 slots between them. Not one sits at a venue counter. No shop, café or convention has hosted a drop, nobody has claimed a card yet, and nothing has been bought or shipped. Sending us a spot puts you in line for a drop we have not scheduled, and everything below is how a hosted drop is meant to run rather than a description of one that has.
How a drop works
Cards Go buys a card from the Collector Crypt marketplace at its live listing price and places it at a public spot. A collector walks there, holds the presence check open on their phone for twenty seconds, and gets a single-use pickup pass. In a standard drop — the 6 that are live now — the card is then redeemed out of its vault and shipped to the claimer. In a hosted drop it ends at your counter instead: the card is with you first, and the collector picks it up in person once the pass checks out.
Neither ending has happened. No live drop has been claimed, so no card has been bought, redeemed or shipped, and the running record of that is on the proof page.
Card shops, comic shops, cafés, game stores and conventions all fit. So does a staffed front desk. What matters is that the place is open to the public and someone is there.
What hosting involves
We check it and ask permission
Public access, safe to stand in for a couple of minutes with a phone out, reachable on foot or transit. Nothing is scheduled until whoever runs the place says yes in writing.
We fund the card
We buy the listing at its live marketplace price, out of our own money. You see the exact item, the date, and the pickup window before any of it is announced.
Someone walks in and claims it
They pass the presence check on their phone and get a receipt ID and a six-digit code. Your person on site checks both at the desk below, then hands the card over.
What we need from you
- Permission in writing from whoever actually runs the place.
- A spot that is public and safe to stand in for a couple of minutes, without blocking a door or a queue.
- One person on site during the window who can read a code off a phone and hand over a sealed slab.
What it costs you
Nothing. We pay for the card and the shipping, we do not charge for the placement, and we take no share of anything you sell that day. In return, your counter is the posted pickup point for that window.
Where that money comes from is worth saying plainly: it is ours. There is no token, no ticker and no contract, and not one trading fee has ever been collected — the fee split written up in the docs is a plan, not income. Each live drop is earmarked for a listing between $10 and $40, and a hosted one would be scoped the same way until that changes.

Send us the place. We read every one of these. Nothing here is scheduled — we chose the 6 live spots ourselves, and a hosted drop would be a new one on a date we have not set. Attaching coordinates is optional and only helps if you are standing at the exact spot you have in mind.
Host desk
For staff on the day. A collector shows you their receipt ID and pickup code; you check the item, confirm, and the pass is closed. Now that drops are claimable, a real pass can reach this desk and confirming one spends it for good, so read the warning before you use it. No hosted drop is scheduled yet, so for now the passes that turn up here come from the practice drop.
This desk has no sign-in.
Anyone who has the link can open this page, and redeeming a live pass consumes it for good. Keep it off shared screens, and do not confirm until the collector is in front of you and the item matches.
